Give a Gift Beyond Measure… Become a Volunteer

Some gifts are priceless. One such gift is the time our volunteers give to help Gurwin residents and Day Care participants enjoy their days. Our volunteers are trained to provide comfort and companionship for a few hours each week, supporting residents in small or large group programs, visiting one-on-one or helping residents and/or staff as:

  • Recreation volunteers – conducting activities including games, lectures, trips and sports
  • Transporters – especially to programs or physical and occupational therapy
  • Friendly visitors – both one-to-one or in groups
  • Mealtime companions
  • Clerical assistants
  • …and more!

We offer day, evening and weekend schedules for adults, teens and families. Volunteers must be in good health. An interview and orientation will be scheduled, and two non-family references must be provided.
