Gurwin’s short-term rehabilitation program is housed on our 67-acre campus, offering everything you need to get back on your feet and back to your life. Our highly-skilled and compassionate staff is key to providing our patients with the services they need to rehab quickly and safely, and our award-winning therapeutic recreation program offers myriad opportunities to pass the time between rehab appointments.

Our nursing and rehabilitation center is equipped with everything a short-term rehabilitation patient might need, ensuring that you can focus on your rehabilitation even when other factors need to be considered. Whether it’s dialysis, IV therapy, dental care or wound treatment, our Center offers access to all services right on site, so you don’t waste days planning and traveling to services outside the facility. We have you completely covered, so you can get home quicker. And, when planning your discharge, ask about our home care programs. We’ll help make the transition home a smooth one.

What is a short term resident?

A short term rehabilitation resident is someone who meets the Medicare criteria for rehabilitation, whose typical length of stay is three to four weeks and who has the potential to return to the community.

Who pays for the care at Gurwin? (Facility)

Depending on whether the resident is here for long-term care or short-term rehabilitation, Gurwin accepts Medicaid, Medicare, a variety of HMOs, and private pay. Our staff can help you determine the source of payment.

For short-term residents, Medicare may cover up to 100 days.
