Esther Kaplan

Esther is one of those people with the ability to fascinate you every time you have the good fortune to run into her. If she’s not fashioning a new hat from leftover fabric and cardboard tubing, she is interviewing her fellow residents, encouraging them to tell their life stories in front of a crowd. Not one to sit idly while life passes her by, Esther makes her own clothes, attends recreation activities, works out in the fitness center, leads groups, and even has a Facebook account to keep up with her far-flung family, all at the age of 90! “I enjoy keeping busy,” she says with a smile. “I hope I’m able to continue to participate in activities for many years to come!”
