Residents & Staff Among First to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

On Monday, January 18, 2021, the initial dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was administered at Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences by Walgreens to Gurwin staff and residents who requested the vaccine and met all health criteria. The second dose was administered February 8, 2021 at our second on-site vaccination clinic.

Gurwin’s Pharmacy team housed in the Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center received approval from the DOH in Spring 2021 to commence vaccinating residents at both the Gurwin Center and Fay J. Lindner Residences, and have been providing the vaccine/booster to all residents who require/request the Pfizer, Moderna or J& J vaccinations.

We are confident that the vaccine is a ray of hope for the beginning to an end to the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing and washing our hands, the vaccine is an important part of the toolkit to get us “back to normal” soon.
