| The Rehabilitation Department is dedicated
to helping residents achieve their maximum level of function. We strive to enhance
resident quality of life by developing and implementing a personalized plan of
care that addresses the total needs of the individual.
Physical Therapy addresses physical dysfunction and/or pain, such as the ability
to walk again after illness through the use of therapeutic exercise, modalities,
balance and gait training activities. Occupational Therapy addresses functional
and self-care skills called Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including feeding,
dressing and grooming through the use of techniques to improve fine motor control,
coordination, perception and cognitive skills. Our speech/language pathologists
address the communication and swallowing needs of our residents by providing speech,
language, oral and pharyngeal sensorimotor training.
Our 40-bed Subacute Unit is dedicated to enabling patients to acquire or relearn
skills they need to return home as quickly and independently as possible.
How much time does each patient spend in rehabilitation?
Each care plan is individualized based on endurance, functional goals, individual
needs in gaining the level of function necessary for safe discharge.
Who is eligible for admission to your subacute care unit?
Patients needing restorative rehabilitation due to a medical or functional
problem who can gain in function and return to the community within 100 days.
