| Comprehensive services are provided by
the Center's on-site Pharmacy, which includes:
- total parenteral nutrition
- peritoneal nutrition
- chemotherapy
- hydration and electrolyte replacement
- peritoneal dialysis and epogen therapy
- I.V.'s and pain management
- drug counseling
- respiratory therapy
Staff pharmacists collaborate closely with the medical and nursing staff in order
to provide safe, effective and immediate medication therapy. Intravenous antibiotics
and parenteral nutrition are mixed on site using a laminar flow hood. Each resident's
drug history is carefully monitored for drug interactions, allergies and effectiveness.
New prescriptions are screened for compatibility with current drug regimen prior
to dispensing medication. |
