| At
Gurwin, we create an ambiance of Jewish life and tradition where residents can
return to their roots and feel very much at home. In addition to our Friday afternoon
Oneg Shabbat and Shabbat morning service, our Rabbi conducts weekly programs of
specific interest for our residents, including such topics as: "Are You too Old
to be Born Again?" "The Joys of Jewish;" "Aging is Saging;" "Great Women of the
Bible;" and much more.
Jewish holidays are celebrated with pre-holiday presentations by local Hebrew
schools and cantors, and talks featuring highlights of the customs and ceremonies.
On Yom Tov, we conduct holiday services and Yizkor memorial prayers.
Although our Center has a Jewish ambiance, members of all religious faiths
feel most welcome. Mass and Holy Communion are offered for Catholic residents,
and one-on-one pastoral visits and a fellowship group for our Protestant residents.
