We are now accepting entries for our annual amateur photo contest!
Amateur photographers may submit a maximum of 5 entries, at $5 per entry, in
the following categories: landscapes, travel, people, pets, children, nature,
wildlife, still life and computer manipulated. Photographs will be judged
by professional photographers based on clarity, composition, subject matter and
suitability for display at the Center. Winning photographers will be awarded
various cash prizes, and winning photos will be enlarged and permanently displayed
at Gurwin for the enjoyment of residents and visitors to the facility.
We are pleased to once again welcome The Tiffen Company (Hauppauge) as a sponsor
of the contest. Tiffen is a leading manufacturer of glass filters and other fine
products for digital, still, video, motion pictures and television, and their
generous support will enable us to continue to enhance the lives of our residents
through the breathtaking photography that is shared each year through this contest
by amateur photographers in our community.
Entries must be submitted by April 15, and applications are now available
through the Gurwin Center’s Public Relations Office, or at www.gurwin.org.
