Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center subsidizes the operation
of its on-site childcare center, the Children’s Garden at Gurwin, so that its employees
can receive quality, licensed, center-based childcare services at a discounted
cost. The Children’s Garden is operated by Rainbow Chimes, Inc.
Since 1980, Rainbow Chimes, Inc. has been providing high quality, not-for-profit,
multi-award winning early childhood education and care services to the Huntington
community and selected corporate sponsors. Rainbow Chimes’ programs are
based upon early childhood development practices that are well recognized by industry
experts.
The Children’s Garden is open 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through
Friday. (Future Saturday and Sunday care is planned, as needed). We offer full-,
part-, and flex-time scheduling on a fixed or as-available basis, along with Drop-in,
Emergency or Back-up Care.
The elegant new Children’s Garden is located in Gurwin’s Weinberg
Pavilion, and has a full security/safety system. Four nurseries and classrooms
are arranged around the Children’s Art Gallery, with supervised access to
indoor and outdoor play areas. Nutritious meals are included in the fee.
Intergenerational activities with selected Gurwin Center participants are a
special feature of our program. Research shows that this wonderful program component
is sure to bring joyous benefits to the children and elders.
Families may borrow books, videos and parenting resources from the Lounge,
or attend evening seminars about work-family issues, provided at the Children’s
Garden or at Rainbow Chimes’ main site in nearby Huntington. The Children’s
Garden also offers various family fun events; clothing, toy & cookie exchanges
and occasional Parents Nights Out.
