Annual Gurwin Photo Contest

The Annual Gurwin Photo contest is underway!  Now in its 20th year, the Gurwin Photo Contest has become one of the premier contests on Long Island, receiving more than 700 entries and rave reviews from photographers and residents alike!

The Gurwin contest is different from other contests in that winning photos are enlarged and then displayed permanently at the Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the enjoyment of our residents, family members, volunteers and staff.  The photos bring endless enjoyment, and the new additions to our Gurwin Gallery are eagerly anticipated each year.

We are pleased to welcome back our sponsor, The Tiffen Company, leading manufacturer of glass filters and other fine products for digital, still, video, motion pictures and television. Their generous support, now in its seventh year, will enable us to continue to enhance the lives of our residents through the exhibition of these breathtaking photos.

Entries will be accepted from February 15 through April 15, 2013 in 10 categories. Professional photographers serve as judges, selecting winners based on clarity, composition, subject matter and suitability for display.  A panel of resident judges will also choose their favorites.  Prizes are awarded in each category.
